The Labrador Retriever is native to Newfoundland. It is about 22 inches high and weighs anywhere from 54 to 76 pounds. Labradors can be black, yellow or liver colored. They are always solid colors.
As its name implies, this breed is a wonderful retriever of downed waterbirds in marshes and water. These breed has webbed paws, making it an excellent swimmer. This very athletic dog loves to play catch and swim.
Labradors are good with children and very affectionate with their masters. The Lab is also one of the most popular breeds in the world.
