real_conureThe Green-cheeked Conure is a native of Bolivia. In the wild they forage in groups. Popular pets, these birds can be loud and vocal but not the best talkers, although they can be taught a few words and phrases. They are very sociable and like attention. The are a favorite among pet owners because of their sweet personalities.

They are about 10.5 inches long and mostly green in color with blue secondary and primary flight feathers. They can live up to 25 years but the average lifespan is about 10 years, generally due to poor care by their owners.

It is illegal to own green-cheeked conures without a license in Australia and in some states it is illegal to keep them.
