Open Spaces Birds

Wild Republic has been producing its Audubon Birds Series for 20 years. Many of their birds with song have been retired, but the more popular types are still being made.

These little plush birds are 5 to 6 inches long and sing their own particular song when squeezed. They are made by Wild Republic in partnership with the Audubon Society. The bird sound recordings are made by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. You can hear the recordings at our sponsor's online gift shop: www.jeanniescottage.com .

The Open Spaces Birds Series includes the following, shown clockwise from top left:
Smith's Longspur (retired), Mountain Bluebird, Greater Roadrunner (retired),
Lark Bunting (retired), Bobolink (retired) and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (retired).

As you can see, most of this series of birds have been retired.
