Dolphins (Delphinidae) are found in all seas; some of them live in fresh water. The Common Dolphin (Delphinus delphis) is found mostly in warm and temperate areas. This dolphin is real_dolphinslender with a pointed six-inch-long beak. Each eye is circled with black making the dolphin appear to be wearing glasses. It is about 8 feet long. This highly sociable animal eats fish and is easily trained and appears in shows at many large aquariums, such as Sea World. These dolphins travel in large groups, swimming at speeds of about 25 mph. They are seen playing in front of ships, leaping out of the water.

Twelve months after mating the female dolphin will bear one live offspring. About a half hour after it is born, the baby is ready for its first meal. The mother feeds her baby with milk.

Echo the Dolphin appears to be an Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus). A large dolphin at 12 feet, it is generally grayish with a lighter gray underneath. It has a short beak of about 3 inches. The Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin is similar.
